FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: liquid metal is influenced with magnetic field at the height of (0.1-0.5)H from furnace bath bottom, where H - depth of bath; velocity of jet supply to the bath and mass supply of liquid metal is controlled by changing the voltage on winding of inductor within (0.5-1.1)Unom of the network; liquid metal is mixed in the bath in pulsating mode, thus alternating the mixing periods with pauses. Device is made in the form of a module which includes a frame with a unit arranged in it, along longitudinal axis of which there located is flow-through path made in the form of a chamber restricted as to length by means of end wall of the unit. Inductor is located horizontally under the chamber bottom; longitudinal axis of chamber and axis of inductor lie in one vertical plane. Frame has loading grippers for lifting and moving the module; flange and parts for attachment of the module to furnace bath wall.
EFFECT: invention allows implementing jet mixing of liquid metal in furnace bath, melting crushed scrap material in the jet of pumped metal, cleaning liquid metal by using gas flux mixture blowing method; duration of stops of furnace for replacement of a module is reduced.
