FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: device can receive, read and interpret an image of objects based on use of photosensitive cells built into or etched into a transparent or semitransparent substrate or on a substrate, e.g., made from glass. The substrate itself works as an optical device which focuses incident photons associated with the reflected image onto the photosensitive cells. The photosensitive cells are connected to each other by transparent or opaque conductors. Neuron digital memory can be trained to recognise specific objects, e.g., the face of a person approaching an object, a surface defect, raindrops on the windscreen etc. Other possible applications include image-detecting car headlights and the indicator panel of a dashboard which detects and identifies the behaviour of the driver (eye tracking, face recognition, facial expression recognition, etc). Other applications include folding doors which detect the direction and speed of an approaching person. Other possible applications relate to detection of permanent damage (change in texture) to dam, bridge or some other structure.
EFFECT: formation of an image with high operating speed and resolution.
