FIELD: printing industry.
SUBSTANCE: method and device (50) to apply printing ink are designed to create an image with printing ink on a surface of a type cylinder (15b) of a printing machine, which has at least partially a 2D printing ink gradient passing in axial direction and in circumferential direction on the surface of the type cylinder (15b). At least the first and second stencil cylinders (20, 25) are installed one behind the other along the way of printing ink application by a dyeing machine (20, 25, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37) for application of printing ink onto the type cylinder (15b) to ensure distribution of printing ink in axial and circumferential directions, besides, there are facilities to ensure periodic oscillating displacement of the first and second stencil cylinders (20, 25) in axial and circumferential directions.
EFFECT: increasing distance, within the limits of which printing ink may be distributed without increasing amplitude of stencil cylinder oscillation and increasing evenness of printing ink distribution in axial and circumferential directions.
