FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to electropneumatic braking control appliances. Proposed method comprises selecting braking step, feeding instruction to compressed air control valve of actuator, feeding compressed air into control pressure chamber of air control valve and braking cylinders, and increasing pressure to preset level corresponding to appropriate braking step. Compressed air feed into air control valve control pressure chamber is combined with control over pressure level therein. Then, noncontinuous monitoring of compressed air pressure in braking cylinders is performed, and obtained magnitudes of pressure are compared with that corresponding to braking step. In case pressure is insufficient, compressed air feed is continued without exceeding preset level for given braking step. Locomotive auxiliary brake valve comprises controller built in drive control board, control unit, actuator with reducers and compressed air control valve. Brake valve incorporates also pressure transducers connected with control unit and air pressure control valve communicating pressure transducers with braking cylinders or with compressed air control valve control pressure chamber, and brake gate valve. Said compressed air control valve control pressure chamber communicates with pressure electropneumatic air control valve and brake gate valve via electropneumatic control valve used to switch over to control module.

EFFECT: higher reliability and faster operation, possibility of remote control.
