FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining the volume of deposits contained in adhesion shape in the acting pipeline is based on the use of inverse relationship between fluid flow velocity in pipeline and passage area of pipeline at constant fluid flow rate. In order to eliminate the gas impact on the accuracy of determining the fluid flow velocity, the contents of the pipeline are replaced in advance with homogeneous fluid without gas and its flow via the pipeline at constant and known flow rate is arranged. Volume of deposits is determined as per the value of average fluid flow velocity.
EFFECT: measurement of fluid flow velocity with portable instrument, namely with ultrasonic flow metre at pipeline points equally spaced throughout its length.
