FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: vertical loads acting on the wheel suspension are measured, said wheel suspension being in form of springs fitted with angular position sensors, each installed on a separate a separate spring such that one of its three mutually perpendicular axes lies in the plane of the local horizon, coincides with the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the spring and is directed in the positive direction of movement of the vehicle, the second lies in the plane of the local horizon and the third is perpendicular to the plane of the local horizon and is directed towards the centre of the Earth. Further, measurement data from the sensors is transmitted to at least one weighing computer and the weight of the load and the loading of the vehicle are determined in the computer based on the deviation angles of sections of the springs received from the angular position sensors. The apparatus has more than one measurement sensor mounted on the wheel suspension and connected to the on-board computer. The wheel suspension is in form of at least one spring. The measurement sensor is in form of angular position sensors, and the on-board computer consists of a control and display unit, an uninterrupted power supply, a secondary power supply, data terminal equipment CAN, a GPS/GSM module, Flash memory and a microcontroller.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities, high reliability and accuracy of measurements while simultaneously simplifying the device.
