FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of determining air permeability of building enclosing structures involves placing the investigated sample into a cassette between warm and low-temperature (cold) compartments of a climatic chamber, sealing joints, creating pressure drop between the inside and outside of the sample which is raised stepwise, holding at each step at steady pressure, measuring volume flow rate of air passing through the sample, achieving a test program-preset value of final pressure on the enclosing structure, successive reduction of pressure on the sample, measuring volume flow rate of air at each pressure drop step in reverse order, calculating mass air permeability and determining the air filtration mode factor through the enclosing structure by plotting a curve of mass air permeability versus pressure drop.
EFFECT: determining air permeability taking into account working characteristics of enclosing structures in the cold period of the year under the effect of subzero external temperatures and above-zero internal temperatures.
