FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method of producing high-purity acrylic and methacrylic esters, obtained via reesterification of (meth)acrylic esters of formula I , where R1 is hydrogen or methyl and R2 is an alkyl residue with 1-40 carbon atoms, with alcohols containing four or more esterifiable hydroxyl groups and selected from a group of tetrabasic alcohols of formula II: R'"(OH)n, where n ≥ 4 and R"' denotes, if necessary, a branched aliphatic or aromatic radical wiht 4-40 carbon atoms, in the presence of lithium amide as a reesterification catalyst, taken in amount of 0.01-10 wt % per total weight of the reaction mixture.
EFFECT: improved method of producing high-purity acrylic and methacrylic esters.
