FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a diamine of formula
, in which A is hydrogen; B is a C1-C6 alkyl group, a phenyl-C1-C6 alkyl group; or a group selected from phenyl, naphthyl, optionally substituted with a substitute selected from C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, or a halogen; X1, X2, Y1, Y2 denote hydrogen; Z is a C1-C6 alkyl group or a C1-C6 alkoxy group. The invention also relates to a method of producing a diamine of formula (I). The invention also relates to an asymmetric hydrogenation catalyst obtained from reaction a diamine of formula (I) and a compound of formula [MX2(arene)]2, where M is selected from Ru, Rh, Ir, Co, Ni, Fe, Pd, Pt and X is a halogen. The catalyst is used for transfer hydrogenation and the transfer hydrogenation reaction is carried out with a cyclic ketone.
EFFECT: obtaining sulphonylated diphenylethylene diamines used in transfer hydrogenation catalysis.
