SUBSTANCE: method of making an optically sensitive multilayer reflecting article comprises steps for depositing a weak solution or suspension of metal nanoparticles on an optically sensitive porous detecting layer and allowing the solution or suspension to dry in order to form a liquid- or vapour-permeable porous light-reflecting layer made of metal nanoparticles in contact with each other and arranged in form of a structure a pile of cannonballs or beads, which enables the analysed liquid or vapour to pass through the light-reflecting layer in the detecting layer so as to cause optical change in the detecting layer in the presence of the analysed substance. Said nanoparticles have average diameter from 1 to 100 nm, and the pore size in the detecting layer ranges from 0.5 to 20 nm. The group of inventions also relates to an optically sensitive multilayer reflecting article containing said porous detecting layer and porous light-reflecting layer, as well as an indicator containing said article and a layer or mass of sorbing medium placed in its immediate vicinity.
EFFECT: simple method of forming a porous light-reflecting layer which allows passage of analysed liquid or vapour into a detecting layer, while reducing the negative effect on optical sensitivity of the detecting layer.
