SUBSTANCE: in communication system, where gateway object (32) is connected with multiple infrastructure objects which in turn function to implement connection with access terminal (44), access terminal at first needs to establish data attachment point (DAP) with one of infrastructure objects (34). DAP service transfer from one infrastructure object (34) to other infrastructure object (36) is initiated by access terminal (44). The access terminal weights factors such as status of communication lines with various infrastructure objects, time after the last DAP service transfer and time length of interacting with current infrastructure object before DAP service transfer.

EFFECT: accuracy and reliability of DAP assignment scheme providing, which leads to effective utilisation of communication resources.
