SUBSTANCE: at least one of base station (BS) and mobile station (MS) is initialised for energy saving using status of downlink (DL) status of uplink (UL), associated with BS and MS, respectively during communication between BS and MS. The first mode of energy saving class (PSC-mode) is switched on when DL and UL statuses specifies period of silence. The second PSC-mode is switched on when at least one of DL and UL statuses specifies period of talk.
EFFECT: providing energy saving in mobile communications system.
