SUBSTANCE: method and device are proposed for mode without transmission (TX) for wireless transmission/receive unit (WTRU) and node B, which suspend transmission of power control updates and associated signaling via dedicated uplink and downlink channels. Triggers and signals between WTRU and node B activates and locks mode without TX. Radio communication line is reestablished to resume data transmission when mode without TX is locked, and data can be also transmitted during set transmission possibilities in the mode without TX.
EFFECT: lowering expenditures of radio resources associated with intermittent traffic.
