FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: 0° position of a section of a first shaft is determined first from the signal from the first shaft, and the 0° position of a section of a second shaft is determined from the signal from the second shaft. Further, the signal from the first shaft and the signal from the second shaft are broken down via Fourier analysis into frequency components of harmonic oscillations, wherein frequency fn1 is calculated for said signal from the first shaft and frequency fn2 is calculated for said signal from the second shaft. Each frequency is calculated as a complex indicator zn, based on the absolute value an and phase φn of the order n, wherein each of the indicators zn characterises angular velocity ωn at said specific frequency fn. For frequency fn1 and frequency fn2, the found angle φn of the complex indicator zn is divided by order n, while calculating standardised complex indicators Nn. The standardised complex indicators Nn are summed up in a complex manner such that the first resultant complex indicator zg1 is calculated from frequency fn1 and the second resultant complex indicator zg2 is calculated from frequency fn2. Further, the length of the resultant complex indicators zg corresponds, in each case, to the arithmetic sum of the lengths of separate complex indicators zg. The angle formed by the first resultant complex indicator zg1 and the second resultant complex indicator zg2 is equal to angle α.

EFFECT: high accuracy of angle determination.
