FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture and viticulture. The method includes determining the state of eyes in one-year sprouts of grapes. The volume of eyes is determined in the varieties-standards of grape and in the corresponding studied grape, which is determined by the formula: 
where r is equal to half the base diameter of the eye; h - is height of the eye. Then the volumes are compared between each other, if the volume of the eyes of grape variety under study is less than the volume of eyes of the variety-standard, that sort belongs to the frost-tolerant.
EFFECT: method enables to accelerate and improve the accuracy of diagnosis of frost tolerance of grapes.
