FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: plant 2 for continuous extrusion of aluminium protective coat of cable core 8 comprises revolving wheel with two identical annular grooves confined from outside by arched tooling and communicated via radial outlets with extrusion chamber arranged around female die. Driven drum 10 is designed to feed cable core into female die in continuous extrusion of loose core coat material from extrusion chamber. Protective coat stretching is excluded thanks to that extruded cable 22 is fed via cooling means 24 to roller corrugator 26 including rotary frame mounted on carriage 27 arranged to move along cable axis and drive of rotation produced with roller to form continuous helical grooves in said protective coat. Pneumatic cylinders 32 are arranged on carriage 27 to create constant low tensioning force on protective coat section between extrusion chamber and corrugator 26. Two grooved rolls 34 are arranged ahead of corrugator to limit transmission of whatever torque forces in corrugator. Rotation speed of said frame is adjusted to match cable linear speed.
EFFECT: improved cable quality.
