FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing hydrocarbons. The invention describes a method of producing hydrocarbons by reducing carbon monoxide, where a catalyst containing cobalt, having a support in form of a metal oxide and zirconium deposited thereon, where 60% of said zirconium is present in the region of 49 vol. %, spreading on the outer surface of the support, is reduced at temperature ranging from 410 to 470°C in a hydrogen atmosphere for 4 to 12 hours, and then used to reduce carbon monoxide.
EFFECT: method enables reduction of carbon monoxide without any uncontrolled reaction.
