FIELD: construction, road engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to intermediate rail fixtures and method of spike installation and may be used to construct and repair railway roads. An intermediate rail fixture comprises spikes driven into a sleeper. Spikes at the external side of the track tail are arranged with an incline towards the nearest end of the sleeper, and at its internal side the spikes are driven into the sleeper without inclination. The method to install a spike for rail fixation to a wooden sleeper includes driving a spike into a sleeper, at the same time the spike at the external side of the track rail is driven with an inclination towards the nearest end of the sleeper, and at its internal side the spike is driven into the sleeper without an incline.
EFFECT: higher safety of railway traffic, provides for stability of track rail position against displacement across the track.
