FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel xanthene dyes, particularly magenta-coloured xanthene dyes with high colouring power and use thereof in colouring liquids for recording devices, particularly for jet printing. Described is a dye of formula (1): where at least one of R2, R4, R7 and R9 denotes an acylamino group of formula R11CONH-* (2), where R11 denotes alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, alkenyl or heterocycle; * denotes the site for bonding with an aromatic ring of formula (1).
EFFECT: use of the disclosed dye in systems of recording devices enables to obtain images with high intensity of magenta colour, improved colour hue and high light fastness and wear resistance compared to existing magenta-coloured xanthene dyes.
