SUBSTANCE: impeller of a centrifugal compressor includes a main wheel, a cover wheel and blades located between them. Also, there is an aerodynamic projection on each blade along its concave side and in the middle of its wide-average part that has rectangular cross sections and dimensions increasing towards the exit from the interblade channel ranging from zero at the point located on the radius of 0.75-0.85 of the wheel radius and to the following dimensions on the outer diameter of the wheel: height being equal to 0.17…0.22 of pitch distance of the blades on the outer diameter of the wheel and width being equal to 0.70…0.75 of the interblade channel height.

EFFECT: reduction of hydraulic losses in the impeller and increase in efficiency of the centrifugal compressor.
