FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is realised using malic acid via coulometric titration. The method is based on reaction of the analysis sample with a coulometric titrant - electrogenerated hydroxide ion, which form during electrolysis of water in the presence of a background electrolyte - aqueous potassium sulphate solution, at dc current of 5.0 mA. Content of organic acids (X, g) in the malic acid in the analysed sample is calculated using the formula: X=I×t×M/F, where I is current, 0.005 A; t is the time taken to reach the titration end point, s; M is molar mass equivalent of malic acid, 67 g/mol; F is Faraday constant, 96485 C/mol.
EFFECT: simple, rapid and accurate analysis.
