FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A surgical cutoff and fixation device has an end effector, a main drive shaft assembly and a handle. The handle comprises a drive sprocket chain which is coupled with the main drive shaft assembly, an electric motor designed for actuating the drive sprocket chain, and a piercing lever. Retraction of the piercing lever actuates an electric motor. The piercing lever is connected to the drive sprocket chain so that a load force applied to the piercing lever is relating to a load force experienced by a cutting instrument in the end effector.
EFFECT: motor driven surgical cutoff and fixation device provides the user with a position, force and/or end effector actuation feedback.
