FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in production of bimetallic ribbed tubes for gas-to-fluid heat exchangers for whatever industry. Helical crosswise ribs are extruded in cold state from thick-wall external tube fitted with minor clearance on bearing tube. Prior to cold rolling, helical bulged skew ledged are made on internal bearing tube outer surface to form V-shape herringbone relief.
EFFECT: recesses between V-shape relief are filled by external tube metal to increase contact surface area and reduce thermal contact resistance, hence, to increase heat transfer factor.
