FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: wet material is loaded, replaced by gravity between two perforated surfaces, ventilated by the drying agent, inverted, cooled and unloaded. New in the method is that the number of inversions of the material is determined by the formula where αc, αr - are the mass-transfer coefficient of the considered and reference cultures kJ/(m2·°C·h); Δtc, Δtr - is temperature difference between the drying agent and the outside air for the considered and reference cultures (°C), Fc, Fr - is the surface of the material in the layer for the considered and reference cultures, m2, nr - is the number of inversions of the reference culture.
EFFECT: improvement of quality of drying by determining the number of inversions for drying of small-seeded crops in a tower drier.
