FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method intended for sizing hard-to-machine metals and alloys and may be used in sizing current conducting parts. Electrochemical dissolution is effected in machining zone subjected to laser radiation. Laser radiation effects are formed in wavelength range comprises, at least, one wavelength in IR spectrum and, at least, one wavelength in UV spectrum. Laser radiation density and exposure of machined surface to said radiation are defined subject to thermal characteristics of machined material, electrolyte boiling point and initial temperature.
EFFECT: metal fusion and electrochemical dissolution activated by laser radiation allow processing hared-to-machine materials.
