FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to rolling stock composite braking shoes. Braking shoe is made from friction material without metal support plate. Braking shoe is formed by friction surface to thrust against wheel rolling surface and opposite surface to stay in contact with braking head and be secured thereto. Braking shoe comprises metal insert. Metal insert has two spaced apart parts with surface located in braking shoe friction surface, connection section extending between said parts, two, in fact, parallel radially extending ledges made integral with connection section. Said parallel ledges extends beyond braking shoe rear part to make key groove. There are jointed passages extending through two spaced apart parts and metal insert connection section to ensure friction material integrity over entire braking shoe.
EFFECT: use of metal insert without support plate and with wire frame-type supports and without them.
