FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, namely, to brake composite blocks of railway vehicles. Brake block of railway vehicle includes composite friction element connected with metal carcass. Cast iron insert with wire frame enveloping it is pressed in its boss in its central part. Working surface of cast-iron insert is made equidistant to geometry at distance of plus or minus 1.0 mm relative to working surface of composite friction element.
EFFECT: shorter time for running-in of the block to the wheel, shorter time for entry into operation, at first braking, cast-iron insert and composite friction material, more effective working of the block.
