FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: propellant charge for a rocket engine is made in the form of a solid propellant grain with a central through channel and a partially armoured side surface. The total area of armoured coating corresponds to the ratio protected by this invention. The armoured coating of the side surface is arranged as "point" with the area of a separate "point" armoured coating on the external surface of the charge equal to 0.5…3.0 mm2. The armour points are installed on the side surface of the charge arbitrarily with provision of the distance between them of at least 3.0 mm.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce maximum pressure in a combustion chamber of a solid propellant rocket engine, to reduce maximum dimensions of armoured particles ejected during its operation.
