SUBSTANCE: in the method to produce a semi-finished product for making a building material including production of a charge by mixing of a silica-containing component, an alkaline component and water to produce a suspension, its drying to produce a semi-finished product and thermal treatment, the charge additionally contains blown sand and a nepheline-containing component at the following ratio of components, wt %: alkaline component in terms of hydroxide 2.0-40.0, nepheline-containing component 0.9-10.0, blown sand 49.0-96.0, silica-containing component - balance, and drying is carried out by spraying the suspension to produce a loose semi-finished product with moisture of not more than 9 wt %.
