FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to servicing of gimbal joints of transport and processing facility transmissions. Proposed method consists in replacing working surfaces of bearing assemblies 3 after turning gimbal joint cross about its central axis through 90° (to the left or right) by turning joint bearings 3 through 180° relative to axis of pair of opposite studs together with cross 2, that is, without disassembly of ''cross stud-bearing assembly joint''. Note here that replacement of working surface is performed at replacement time making 0.8…0.9 of expected magnitude.
EFFECT: longer life, reparability and lower servicing costs.
