BEARING UNIT OF HOOKE'S JOINT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: transmissions containing shafts with intersecting axes which are connected by means of Hooke's joints; heavily loaded transmissions of rolling mills, heavy-freight automobiles, locomotives, etc. SUBSTANCE: bearing unit includes cheek of hinge fork and cross-piece pin fitted on radial bearing. Unit includes also blind and straight-way covers secured on cheek by means of bolts. Radial bearing is just sliding bearing which consists of bush-trunnion press-fitted on cross-piece pin and bush-insert mounted in bore of cheek; bushes are engageable. Straight-way cover is provided with hole where thrust sliding bearing made in form of sleeve engageable with tail-piece of cross-piece pin is mounted. EFFECT: enhanced durability; reduced labour consumption; reduction of time required for adjustment, assembly and disassembly; reduction of idle; increased productivity of units where Hook's joints are used. 2 dwg
