SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing compounds of formula 
, in which X denotes fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine and n equals 1, 2, 3 or 4, which involves reaction of a compound of formula 
, in which substitutes are as defined for formula I, with an inorganic nitrite in an acidic aqueous medium in the presence a bromide and a copper-containing catalyst. The method is carried out in form of a single-reactor reaction.
EFFECT: obtaining said compounds with high output and high quality using a cheap and easy method.
