SUBSTANCE: scope of invention covers method of production of compound I where R₁ R₂, R₃ independently from each other mean hydrogen or C₁-C₆ alkyl, and n is equal to 0, which includes additive reaction of formula II , where R₀, R₁, R₂, R₃ and n are those indicated above and X means the leaving group, with malonic acid dinitrile in inert diluting agent at temperature from 0 to 250°C, in the presence of palladium catalyst and a base characterized in that palladium(II)dihalogenide, palladium(II)dichloride, bis(tricyclohexylphosphine)palladium(II)dichloride, bis(dibenzylideneacetone)palladium(0) or tetrakis(triphenyl phosphine)palladium(0) are used as palladium catalyst.

EFFECT: method allows to increase yield and purity of phenylmalonic acid dinitriles.
