FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering, namely, to designs of nuclear power plants. A cycling nuclear power plant comprises the first circuit, including a reactor, a steam generator and the main circulation pump, a steam and water circuit including a condensate-feeding line and a live steam line, comprising a steam turbine connected to the steam generator and including high and lower pressure cylinders and an intermediate steam superheater, and also a heat-accumulating circuit, comprising a heat accumulator with a heat exchanger and a system of valves installed on steam lines. The solution differs by the fact that the heat-accumulating circuit is built into the live steam line. At the same time a power heat accumulator is used in the heat-accumulating circuit with a solid-state accumulating material, where a heat exchanger and power heating elements are built into, being connected via a power transformer unit to an external grid, at the same time one of the valves is installed between the intermediate steam superheater and the steam generator outlet, and its inlet and outlet are connected accordingly to the inlet and the outlet of the power heat accumulator heat exchanger.
EFFECT: increasing efficiency of operation of a nuclear power unit in cycling modes.
