The method to operate a machine to make drinks related to a type comprising a boiling device, includes a reservoir containing water; a dispensing head to receive a cartridge during use, containing one or more drink ingredients; a pump to pump water from a reservoir into a dispensing head. At the same time it comprises a primary heater to heat water, and a secondary heater between the reservoir and the dispensing head; and also a controller to control supply to the primary heater and to the secondary heater. At the same time the method of operation comprises a stage, at which the controller is controlled to prevent power supply to the primary heater simultaneously with power supply to the secondary heater.

EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase accuracy of water temperature control and to accelerate reaction of a machine, when it is necessary to dispense drinks with different temperature.
