FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in strip reduction by tempering mill rolls. Optimisation of tempering parameters to zinc-plated steel roughness Ra=0.3…0.6 mcm is ensured by force of reduction of 0.4-0.6 mm-thick strip from steel containing 0.04…0.08 wt % of carbon, 0.24…0.39 wt % of manganese, 0.01…0.03 wt % of silicon, 0.013…0.09 wt % os sulfur, 0.001…0.017 wt % of phosphorus, and up to 0.1 wt % of chromium and nickel, defined by: Ptem=2470.64-1.38σtem+2.31σyp-1915.18Ce, (kN), while reduction of said strips is taken to make εtem=0.51-0.0005σtem+ 0.069Ce, (%), where σtem and σyp are yield point and temporary resistance of strips, Ce is carbon equivalent equal to Ge=[C]+[Mn]/9+[Si]/3, while [C], [Mn], [Si] are content of said elements in steel.
EFFECT: higher quality.
