FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: stack gas cooler has gas intake and gas discharge chambers and a matrix of gas-cooling pipes, extended between gas intake chamber and gas discharge chamber. Each gas-cooling pipe has a bell-shaped inlet end with an aerodynamically curved profile for acceleration of gas and facilitation of laminar flow of stack gas G into the pipe. Method of stack gas cooling and cleaning is also disclosed.
EFFECT: ability to receive hot unprocessed stack gas G directly from aluminium pots without causing clogging of cooler by dust and sublimates present in the stack gas.
