FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: projectile of the required type is supplied to a line of ramming into a tube, and the projectile is rammed to a lead-in chamfer of a tube lodgement. Projectile ramming is carried out by direct exposure of a base to a compressed air flow leaking with a speed close to the sound speed in air, around 340 m/sec. Prior to projectile ramming into a tube cavity, cooling liquid is sprayed before the projectile, and the liquid is exposed to compressed air leaking around the projectile in process of projectile ramming along the entire tube length. A projectile charging mechanism comprises a mechanised projectile storage, a device to feed projectiles on the ramming line into a tight projectile tray with a lock and a rammer arranged in the form of a compressed air source connected via a receiver and a quick-acting valve, with the time of actuation of around 0.001 sec., with a cavity of a rear part of the tray between the tray lock and the base. At the outer side of the tube there is a cooler with a cooling liquid, communicated with a tube cavity by means of nozzles.
EFFECT: higher rate of fire, efficient firing and artillery tube tolerance to battle damage.
