FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and oil-and-gas industry, particularly, to separation of heterogeneous liquid mixes. Proposed method comprises using device including casing furnished with initial emulsion feed branch pipe, branch pipes to discharge separately emulsion components, and filtration unit arranged inside said casing and having layers of filtration coalescing material. Filtration unit divides casing inside into top and bottom sections. Initial emulsion feed branch pipe and that of discharging one of emulsion components are arranged at casing top, above filtration unit, while branch pipe of discharging second component is arranged at casing bottom, under filtration unit. Casing comprises external support structure to allow arranging casing so that filtration unit is located horizontally or lifted along emulsion flow. Filtering unit comprises plates made from porous-cellular metal or alloy, or their combination with other filtration materials.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of separation.
