FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dehydration of oil containing mechanical impurity. Pre-heated water oil emulsion is passed through the filtering material cleaned from plugging by mechanical impurity with washing. The filtering material is metal-spherical powder with the particles of different sizes arranged by height in the order of decreasing of rate of their sedimentation in reservoir water from below upwards and cleaned from mechanical impurity by the reservoir water pumped from below upwards with providing of pseudo-liquefaction of powder. The water oil emulsion is passed through metal-spherical powder towards the decrease of the size of particles of powder under excessive pressure, and after stratification of the filtered emulsion into the dehydrated oil and reservoir water they are separated. The device contains the vertical housing the lower part of the cylinder of which has the drainage and distributive assembly supporting the filtering material above which the top part of the housing closed by the cover with union /unions is located which is implemented in the form of the cone expanding upwards the height of conical part and the angle of the cone comply with the condition Vl≤Vs, where Vl - the linear speed of the ascending flow of reservoir water in expanded part of the housing and Vs - the minimum speed of sedimentation of particles of metal-spherical powder.

EFFECT: inventions provide purification of oil from emulsion and mechanical pollution and reservoir water, and also regeneration of the filtering material in the conditions excluding its carrying out from the internal volume of the device.
