FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. The method for fixing carbon dioxide involves the following steps: (a) dispersing solid waste material containing calcium oxide and a calcium-containing mixed oxide in water to obtain solid waste material with low content of calcium oxide in a calcium hydroxide solution; (b) separating the calcium hydroxide solution from the solid waste material with low content of calcium oxide; (c) converting calcium hydroxide in the separated solution into precipitated calcium carbonate; (d) bringing the aqueous suspension of the solid waste material with low content of calcium oxide into contact with carbon dioxide for a period of time sufficient for formation of aqueous calcium bicarbonate solution for mineral carbonisation of carbon dioxide to form carbonised solid waste material; (e) extracting a portion or all of the aqueous calcium bicarbonate solution from the carbonised solid waste material; (f) precipitating calcium carbonate from the separated aqueous calcium bicarbonate solution; and (g) separating the precipitated calcium carbonate as the product.
EFFECT: invention enables to recycle carbon dioxide via mineral carbonisation of solid wastes to obtain pure calcium carbonate.
