FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for the capture, sequestration and disposal of carbon dioxide (CCSU) and to a reactor plant suitable for the implementation of the method. The combined method for carbon dioxide capture, sequestration and disposal contains steps in which an aqueous suspension containing an aqueous solution and solid particles containing activated magnesium silicate mineral is obtained. At the dissolution stage, a gas stream containing CO2 interacts with an aqueous suspension at the first pressure to dissolve magnesium from the mineral to produce a suspension containing a carbonized aqueous solution enriched with magnesium ions and a magnesium-depleted solid residue. At the deposition stage, magnesium carbonate is precipitated from magnesium ions obtained by dissolution at the stage. Further, by repeatedly sequentially reducing the pressure step-by-step, with each stage at a lower pressure than the previous one, CO2 is released, which is compressed accordingly step-by-step and returns to the dissolution stage. A reactor plant for the implementation of the method has also been announced.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides reduction in the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere while simultaneously producing economically useful and valuable products, in particular, magnesium carbonates and silicon dioxide.
