SUBSTANCE: method to adjust breaking process in a breaking machine involves modifying a set of rollers in quality and quantity, during which an automated an automatic lifting of upper roller of breaking pairs of non-optimal set, as measured by the results of the automatic control of separability and linear density in the flow of processed bast raw materials before mechanical treatment. The method to adjust breaking process in a breaking machine involves uplifting of the mechanism of breaking rollers and a drive. The shaft of lifting mechanism is common to all pairs of breaking rollers and is set with an option to transfer motion to the upper roller of each breaking pair individually by means of screw pairs by a signal of the commanding unit or the control computer.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of breaking owing to the working through of all flow of raw material, decrease of metal and energy consumption of the breaking machine, reduction of adjustment time of the breaking process owing to simplification of the construction of the device for withdrawal of rollers from service.
