FIELD: textile engineering.
SUBSTANCE: scotching-and-breaking unit has drive controllable by means of frequency converters, feeder comprising conveyor and thinning mechanism with spiked disks, scotching machine comprising set of grooved rolls with various numbers of grooves, breaking machine consisting of two working sections, clamping transporting device, embracing mechanism positioned between said sections, each of said sections having pair of working drums. Shell surface of each drum has conical portions and cylindrical portions adjoining said conical portions. Three beating planks mounted on each drum are positioned at an angle to longitudinal axis of drum. Each plank has continuous replaceable working faceplate on its surface.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of unit providing uniform feeding of raw materials and high-quality scotching and breaking of raw material.
