METHOD OF CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT OF ORTHOPAEDIC PATHOLOGY Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61F5/14 A61B5/103 A61B5/11

Abstract RU 2456963 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, orthopaedics, and is applicable for conservative treatment of absolute or relative limb-length discrepancy in children and adolescents suffering orthopaedic disorders causing growth accompanying a pelvic obliquity, static spinal disorders, for formation of an optimal pattern of static position and walking in the given group. It involves optical computed tomographic diagnosis (OCTD) of a body posture, detection of spinal and pelvic axial disorders in a frontal plane, and the presence of a frontal spinal arch matched with the pelvic obliquity requires the OCTD-aided sequential selection of a compensator height in a naturally positioned patient to ensure the maximum correction of the frontal spinal arch and the maximum elimination of the pelvic obliquity. The compensator height is specified by the stabilometrics data on the ground of a common centre of gravity (CCG) of the body initially and with the compensator. If the CCG is initially matched with the pelvic obliquity, however shifted in the opposite side during the studying with the compensator by the value exceeding the initial ones, or if the CCG is initially mismatched with the pelvic obliquity, the compensator height is decreased by 1-3 mm with considering the initial value of the CCG shift. The compensator height is re-selected in 6-7 months from the beginning of compensator wearing or increasing the patient's height by 3-4 cm.

EFFECT: method provides the individual selection of the compensator considering the characteristics of postural disorders and difficulties of an individual patient excluding the subjective factor while specifying the compensator height.
