FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method, one additionally compares the thyristor converter EMP with its rated value; if the said value is exceeded, one proportionally reduces the preset value of the parameter regulated via the excitation circuit which is assumed to be the electric motor EMP. The proposed method enables the electric drive reliability enhancement due to activation of the electric motor extra-excitation mode and due to improvement of commutation conditions with high energy characteristics preserved.
EFFECT: provision for a minimum margin of the thyristor converter rectified EMP by way of excluding EMP overregulation in the impact load application and its stabilisation at the preset level when the load current increases in excess of the rated value.
