FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to device for spring hardening by aging in compressed condition. Proposed device comprises top and bottom inserts, barrel to accommodate said inserts and punch with ball surface to get in contact with top insert ball surface. Bottom insert is arranged to rotate about barrel axis while top insert rotates and displaces along barrel axis and allows its axis to deviate from punch axis. Insert end face surfaces have stop with depth making at least spring turn height and follow spring extreme turn end shape. Insert stop edge is rounded at point of contact with spring first work turn to rule out dents on first turns.
EFFECT: longer life of springs.
