FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and can be used to produce carnallite which is a raw material for the magnesium industry. Hot carnallite solutions are purified from mechanical impurities and carnallite is crystallised by cooling the solutions on controlled pan crystallisation apparatus to obtain carnallite crystals with mean particle size greater than 0.3 mm. The obtained pulp undergoes hydraulic separation by thickening with outlet of fine fractions. The thickened pulp undergoes further hydraulic separation on cyclones on near-mesh grain of 0.2 mm, followed by centrifuging.
EFFECT: method simplifies the process and increases quality of carnallite.
