SUBSTANCE: phase direction finder has three antennae, a high frequency amplifier, a tunable heterodyne, a heterodyne control unit, mixers, a quadrature power splitter, intermediate-frequency pre-amplifiers, band-pass filters, intermediate-frequency amplifiers with a logarithmic video output and a radio output with limitation of the amplitude of the output radio signal, analogue adders, quadrature phase detectors, a frequency selection signal generator, threshold devices, a phase difference calculator, a comparator, a five-input coincidence circuit, intermediate-frequency band-pass filters with a smooth amplitude-frequency characteristic, low-pass filters, a timer, a repetition period selector, a decision device and a power reading forming unit, connected in a certain manner.
EFFECT: owing to use of intermediate-frequency band-pass filters with a smooth amplitude-frequency characteristic, a repetition period selector, a power reading forming unit a decision device in the direction finder, there is maximum utilisation of selective properties of band-pass filters in order to increase accuracy of direction finding, frequency resolution and noise-immunity when finding the direction of sources of continuous narrow-band signals in a wide dynamic and frequency range of signals.
