SUBSTANCE: method of editing static digital composite images, including images of several objects, involves performing the following steps: automatically determining coordinates of vertices of rectangles on the composite image which bound images of objects; displaying on a display, the bounding rectangles which are applied onto the composite image in accordance with the automatically determined coordinates; selecting an object on the composite image through a user interface in response to indication of the bounding rectangle corresponding to said object; dividing the selected image of the object into at least two images of objects in response to predetermined actions through the user interface; merging the selected object image with another object image in response to predetermined actions through the user interface; updating coordinates of the vertices of the bounding rectangles, which describe images of objects on the composite image; extracting images of objects in accordance with coordinates of vertices which describe their bounding rectangles.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities owing to semi-automatic editing of digital composite images containing images of several objects.
